Ken Jenkins

Ken was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and has spent over 20 years in the software industry working with businesses all over the US, while cultivating his inner passion for writing and the creative arts. From his first book of poetry at the age of 10 to his last book of short Stories “Playing Fields” Ken has developed compelling stories with intriguing characters.

 

A Heart That Forgives- The Movie was inspired by the song of the same name written by Gospel Artist Kevin LeVar. In 2010, after the sudden loss of his wife of 18 years Ken began developing the screenplay for A Heart That Forgives- The Movie as a way of as a way of dealing with the loss, understanding the power of forgiveness and how we all have a unique path to the forgiveness we each need. Everyone has a story. Maybe yours is learning how to forgive yourself, or asking someone to forgive you. A Heart That Forgives- The Movie takes you on a journey of rise, fall and redemption, reveals the power of God’s love, the core of the human condition and the freedom that comes with forgiveness.

 

M. Legend Brown

Director

 

Michael D. Brown is a self-taught, award winning, writer, producer and director. Mr. Brown directs under the assumed name M. Legend. Legend found his deep interest  in filmmaking 10 years ago when he was hired by Milkshake films to write and direct their first film.

Legend realized his love for the process of storytelling through the silver screen. The passion drove Legend's tireless desire to learn everything he could about filmmaking through working on film shoots and reading material at the Dallas Public library. For two years, Legend spent every waking hour at the library studying. After finishing a book, Legend would stack it with the others on the right side of the table for the librarians to retrieve. The stacks of materials still on the left side of the table showed his resolve to keep learning which he did without  the help of expensive film school,  Legend met Eric King at Pepsi-Co in 2004 and together they formed Poorchild Films. The new company along with the support of King provided Legend with the platform to perfect his writing, producing, and directing skills. While working at Pepsi-Co for funding.  Legend's film have won several awards.  Along with his current film projects, Legend spends as much time as possible speaking to enthusiastic students around Texas about careers in filmmaking.

 

Kelly Gray

Producer

 

Kelly Gray started out in the motion- picture business mentoring under Boomtown Productions producing music videos and commercials. Kelly took the challenge and started Mahogany Films and began producing music videos in 2004. In 2009,  Kelly produced her first feature film “Black Angels” which is listed as one of the top fifty African American films on Amazon of all time.

Gray also produced “Hiding In Plain Sight” has receive 9 awards and has been accepted to 16 festivals and received a limited theatrical run broadcast and worldwide release. Her current title Steps of Faith Starring Charles Malik Whitfield, Tracey Ross, and Irma P. Hall has been screened in the United States and Canada taking home a Spirit Award and taking home best feature in the Capital City Festival. Her current title "Carter High starring Charles Dutton and Vivica A. Fox will be released in November 2015 and she is currently in Pre-production on her six feature "A Man Called Jon", which will be shot in Terrell and Dallas, Texas April 2015.
